Ukrainian Department

Ukrainian at the Viadrina

Dear Students, Dear Guest Students,

The Ukrainian Department at the Viadrina Language Centre warmly invites you to discover the world of another Slavic language, which people in Ukraine lovingly call the "nightingale's language." In our Ukrainian language courses, you’ll have the opportunity to learn basic grammatical concepts, master the vocabulary necessary for communication, and gain insights into Ukraine, its history, and its culture.

Please note that the Ukrainian language course is certified by the AKS Commission, and upon passing the exams, you will receive a UNIcert® Basis certificate for A2 and UNIcert® I for B1.

The courses are complemented by various Ukrainian workshops, poetry evenings, and film screenings. The Ukrainian Language Café launched in 2024 and is a place where you can practise your Ukrainian and improve your language skills.

Welcome!
