Registration for the General Language Examination / UNIcert® II

Summary of Registration Requirements

(This information was created to serve only as a brief overview of requirements. Please familiarize yourself with the binding examination regulations!!!)

Only currently-enrolled, matriculated students at the European University Viadrina will be allowed to take the examination following the completion of general language training (AP). You must have successfully completed a minimum of two advanced level courses; obtained the placement “O-Star” on a current placement test (results valid for two semesters); or, as a result of a special application, be granted permission to take the AP exam.  Details, specifically pertaining to UNIcert® II, can be found in the examination regulations.

Only students currently-enrolled and matriculated at the European University Viadrina, and who have successfully completed the Language Centre’s professional language training (2 certificate courses) in the respective language and subject area, will be allowed to take the Examination for Completion of Professional Language Training (ZP). Exceptions are the decision of the Head of the Professional Language Examination Committee. The Certificate UNIcert® III (Professional Language) is issued when a minimum of one certificate level is completed at Viadrina’s Language Centre.

Only students currently-enrolled and matriculated at the European University Viadrina, and who have successfully completed the supplementary courses in German as a Foreign Language, will be allowed to take the Certificate Examination for German. An application for exception to these rules must be submitted with proof of equivalent language proficiency to the Head of the Examination Committee; only the committee head may grant an exception.

Individuals who have not passed the respective examinations after exhausting all retake possibilities will not be accepted to take the terminal examinations.
